Kim debuted in the movie business in 1989 with a small role in Afgrund af frihed, after several theatre experiences, but it wasn't until 1994 that he got his big breakthrough as the macho character Jens in Ole Bornedal's Nightwatch (1994), for which he won several awards, and the film was made into a remake in 97.
